Goldcrest

This goldcrest was hanging out in the Aquadrome, under a sign that said goldcrests frequent the area.

Redwing

I don't think cotoneaster berries are very tasty. They are always  the last choice of the neighbourhood birds. But there does come a point in late winter where they have eaten everything else, and the cotoneaster gets picked clean. This year, it was black birds and redwings who ate most of the fruit.

Red tailed kite

There seem to be a lot of these around the place - which is odd, because they aren't mentioned at all in the RSPB book of garden birds which is our usual reference. They seem to have proliferated in the time we've lived here and now we have almost daily sightings.
